UAW Art Galleries Comparison -
On Friday 12th May, Year 10 students had the opportunity to see a wide range of artwork on a trip designed to inspire and enable them to document their findings once back at the Academy. On a self-guided tour of both galleries students viewed art from the likes of L.S Lowry, Tracey Emin, J.M.W. Turner and David Hockney to name a few.
The visit was intended to support their Unit 1 coursework and in lessons students have been creating a visual interpretation of their findings, including analysis and drawings of art work that inspired them.
Mrs Mitchell commented: "Students were really enthused by a wide range of art, sparking insightful conversations and discussions about their preferences."
Rebecca Fitzsimmonds, from Year 10, added: "It was a great opportunity to experience Art work first hand ; it was very beneficial for my studies and served as a fantastic inspiration for my own artwork."
