UCAN 'TOTAL SPORT' Festival -
On Wednesday 28th June, Year 9 leaders from UCAN took part in the ‘TOTAL SPORT’ festival which aims to provide young disabled children in Vale Royal an opportunity to try a variety of new sports and activities.
14 Year 9 student leaders from UCAN supported the events with teams from Barnton Community Primary School, Willow Wood Community Primary, Winsford High Street Primary, St Wilfrid’s Primary, Victoria Road Primary, Charles Darwin Community Primary, Weaverham Forest Primary School and Over Hall Community School.
Students were able to try a range of sporting activities including sitting volleyball, new age curling, boccia and adapted athletics.
Event organiser and PE Teacher, Mr R Russell said: “The pupils were amazing. Everyone tried their best in every activity and supported their fellow team players.”
Year 9 student, Jordan Keen said: “I enjoyed working with children who have a disability as I have not done that before. They were fantastic!"
