UAW French Students Visit France - 17/10/2017

During September 2017 a group of Year 9 French students from UAW travelled to Lille in France to experience French life and visited ‘La Coupole’, a bunker museum from World War 1. Whilst in France students were able to experience traditional French life and foods such as a breakfast of snails. Students were encouraged to interact with locals to fully absorb the culture. During the visit to ‘La Coupole’ students were able to reinforce their learning of World War 1 in History lessons. The visit was intended to bring to life the French language and the work they have been doing on their World War 1 project. Mrs Lloyd commented: ‘The students’ behaviour was exemplary, commented on by everyone who we came into contact with.’ Reed Williams, a UAW student added: ‘It was eye opening, different, and unexpected. I liked experiencing everyday life in France.’
